Meditation 1 of 7

Seeing the Fire Clearly

Awareness without shame. Let the fire show you where pain has been living.

Before you begin

Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Sit comfortably — on a chair, cushion, or the floor. Let your hands rest open in your lap. Close your eyes or soften your gaze downward. Read slowly, or have someone read this to you. Pause wherever you feel called to pause. There is no rush here.

Welcome. Sit gently and breathe.

Notice the anger without naming it wrong. Let it be a messenger.

Inhale slowly. Exhale softly.

Feel your body where it is tight, hot, guarded, or trembling.

Say within: I am willing to see what is here.

You do not need to perform peace. You only need to tell the truth.

Let the fire show you where pain has been living. Let breath make room around it.

Ask: What is this anger protecting? What wound is asking to be seen?

Stay present. Stay kind.

You are not your reaction. You are the witness, the breath, the sacred life beneath the heat.

Close by saying: I see the fire, and I choose truth over shame.

Closing note

When you are ready, take one more slow breath. Gently open your eyes. Let the stillness remain with you as long as it will. You may wish to write in your journal before returning to your day.
